Mother Nature has her dates confused in Kentucky. Over the past week we have experienced every possible range of weather. Although this isn’t uncommon for our area (the joke is if you don’t like the weather stay around 24 hours), it is still difficult to deal with.
I often find my moods affected by the weather and this week has been one of them. I do attempt to practice gratitude and I find it helps. I’m grateful we had no damage from major storms on Wednesday, had dinner with one of my favorite bloggers Lindsay on Tuesday and that today is Friday! Another way I attempt to improve my mood is reminding myself of some of my favorite things of the week. I’m excited to share what I’ve loved this week and what I think you will love too!
Blooming Trees
The above photo is of the redbud that is blooming in our back yard. Regardless of whether the day is gray and overcast or a beautiful blue sky, the blooms are outstanding. What makes this tree more special is it one we planted in memory of my Mom after she died. Each spring I like to think it is a little greeting from her.
Lipsense Lipstick
Have you heard of lipsense lipstick? My friend Tammy provided me with a sample of lipstick and lipgloss and I have been wearing the color Bella (see photo below) for the past week.
Lipsense is a long lasting lipcolor that is waterproof, smudge proof and does not wear off until you say it is time. There is an abundance of colors that can be combined to create even more colors. It is a two step process that includes three light layers of your preferred color and a coat of gloss. Throughout the day all one needs to do is apply gloss.
I truly like the fact that the color stays on all day (and who wouldn’t). The only downfall for me is I have extremely uneven lips that I must line carefully everyday. As part of my line has to be on my skin above my natural lips, lipsense did not stay. However, it did stay on my lips.
I feel like this product will work for everyone who doesn’t have my beauty issue and as a treat, my friend Tammy is offering 10% off your first purchase (this includes lipstick, gloss and the opps remover). Please visit her at Lasting Lips by Tammy and use the Code Lips to receive 10% off.
Drink of the Week
What do you know about Tequila? As a Kentucky girl, I can recite the bible of bourbon but knew very little about tequila (other than it is necessary for a great margarita).
My husband James has begun an educational, biweekly Facebook Live where he shares the basics and not so basics about tequila. For example, did you know that research has proven that a small glass of tequila lowers the blood sugar in diabetics? Tequila Insights provides more than everyday knowledge about tequila (and the host is pretty cute too). Please join James on his Facebook page and take some time to check out the past Facebook Live posts. Forgive me for my shameless plug!
Music of the Week
I played Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s song That’s How You Speak To A Girl two weeks ago after falling in love with it after one listen. There are no videos of their CMA performance last week but the song is well worth a listen!
