Happy April!
I know that most of us are questioning how did this happen? Once again, a reminder of the need to truly appreciate each day, slow down and make sure you are doing what you want to do with your life.
A need to develop new trainings and planning for a much needed vacation, has me approaching time differently for awhile. However, I am still collecting some of my favorite reads and items from the week. I know you will enjoy them.
What We Know (And Think We Know) About the Upcoming Instagram Update
Krista from Covering the Bases has written an excellent post about the anxiety everyone has been feeling about the changes in Instagram. This is a great read and Krista has become a new blog to follow. She’s a University of Kentucky graduate and I fell in love with her when I went to her twitter account and found the UK basketball team as her cover photo.
Can You Relate?
How many times have you viewed an Instagram account or read a blog and questioned if that world is truly real? Lindsay makes excellent points about the difficulty in relating real life to blogs and accounts that feature picture perfect worlds. I love reading through high fashion magazines and looking at beautiful homes. However, I live in Lexington, Kentucky. There are clothes that would never fit into my world and furniture that doesn’t fit my lifestyle. Also, can you really afford a $400 wreath? We all desire a space that is perfect but the reality is it takes a lot of energy (and money) to achieve perfect.
How A Creative Project Can Heal Your Body, Your Mind and Your World
Writing is therapeutic. Playing music is therapeutic. Creating anything is therapeutic. This post from Allison at Allison Fallon, discusses the power of being creative and how it truly heals. Too often in this world, we lose time for being creative as we feel there are more important things to do. After reading this post, if you aren’t being creative already, you will find the need.
8 Things You Can Learn By Just Leaving
Have you ever been in a difficult situation and wanted to run away? Believe it or not, I’ve often encouraged many clients to take a long weekend, week or month. Shauna from Best Kept Self shares how spending 4 weeks in Europe helped her gain a new perspective and feel like herself again. You may not be able to fly to Europe but this post will have you rethinking when you plan your next trip to be.
Finding Ways to Get Re-Inspired
Everyone goes through a period of time where it is hard to be motivated and inspired. Amanda from Meet At The Barre provides such an inspiring list that I know you will find your inspiration overflowing.
Peanut Chicken Zoodles
I love Thai food and this recipe from Turquoise and Teale will have you craving a plate full.
Speaking of Food:
We still continue to receive Hello Fresh and I feel like my cooking skills have improved. From my opinion, Hello Fresh continues to be one of the best delivery food boxes. I do substitute out to make items gluten free but these are items I have in my pantry. We receive 3 meals for two people each week. If you are interested in trying Hello Fresh for yourself, I have THREE FREE BOXES to give away. Please just leave your email in the comments.
Wishing you a great weekend!!
