Hello November!!!
The weather is FINALLY beginning to resemble fall in Kentucky. I’ve been loving the eighty degree weather but also admit that the change of seasons is nice. As we enter November, the next several weeks will move quickly and it is nice to have the weather representing the season.
My hope is to develop a new and consistent posting schedule but until then I do promise to provide favorites on a regular basis.
Here are some of my favorites for this week:
Oprah’s Favorite Things
It’s that time of year!!! Oprah is sharing her favorite things and I see several that I want to put on my list!
Target’s Bullseye Playground
If you haven’t been there lately, get there soon. I went the day after Halloween and had to stop myself from purchasing one of everything. Adorable felt clutches and bags, christmas plates and decorations. Get there before everyone else does!!
Opening of CMA 2016 Awards
You may not be a country music fan but you will still get chills watching the opening of the CMA awards. Some amazing songs by amazing performers.
PiYo
I shared on Monday that our neighborhood was having the grand opening of a new YMCA in Lexington. I’ve missed going to group classes and love doing PiYo live. Let’s just say my muscles have been feeling it.
This Song Makes 65% Of People Feel Less Stressed Immediately
Who doesn’t want to feel less stressed (especially around this time of year)? Music is extremely therapeutic and it is amazing that this song had this percentage of results.
Five Ways For Women To Support Women
As women we continue to battle not always being supportive of each other. Sheryl Sandberg shares five actions we can all take on a regular basis. Reach out and support a sister. We are stronger together.
VOTE
In this forum, I attempt to be respectful of everyone’s view point. However, I urge you to remember that there is a candidate running for president who is well known for mocking others, belittling women and insulting anyone with a different viewpoint. If you feel this individual would not make fun of you for something then I encourage you to think differently. If we do not stand up and demand that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, someday we will be the ones who are belittled, insulted and mocked.
Regardless of what you do this weekend, take a few minutes to review the candidates running in your local, state and presidential election. Please don’t develop your opinion from random ads run on tv but from a reputable news source. If you can state the FACTS about why you feel one candidate should be elected then you are being an informed citizen. Most importantly, please VOTE. I am always reminded that there was a time in my life when the women in my family could not. There are humans who die for the gift we have as Americans.
